The project comprised of two phases of works to the 15M high roof of the 1930’s built Air Livery Aircraft Hangar on Norwich International Airport.
Phase one required prompt mobilisation to site and the removal of fire damaged timber roofing members and loose debris to ensure the hanger remained in a safe condition and to facilitate the post reconstruction. In collaboration with Canham Consulting structural integrity testing and evaluation of the remaining roof structure was conducted to enable the design of the required repairs to be produced and the procurement of specialist roofing materials.

Phase two required Mackinnon Construction to remove the existing asbestos roof sheeting and lead pain coating and the reconstruction of the roof. The workscope included; the installation of profile metal roof sheets, installation of high-level timber framework, insulation panels, suspended ceilings and rewiring & lighting.

The work required the erection of both internal and external tube & fitting scaffold to enable the safe access and egress to each worksite.
