James Fisher Marine Services choose the former Shell UK base at Lowestoft as their Offshore Construction Coordination Base to facilitate the construction of the offshore Galloper Wind Farm.
With the former Shell UK base being vacant for many years, Mackinnon Construction were engaged to conduct a comprehensive refurbishment and internal fit out to the two-storey premises, providing James Fisher Marine Services with a modern bespoke facility to enable the port facility for their marine construction operations.
The project required both external and internal works to the building. The work scope included; reconfiguration of internal walls to facilitate open plan and closed office spaces; replacement of doors and windows; installation of, kitchenettes, toilets, urinals, hand basins & showers; redecoration and replacement flooring to, reception, corridors, welfare facilities, and stairways; and the erection of security fencing and key clamp railing to quayside.
